Adam has always had a sharply analytical mind, but also thoroughly enjoys time with his clients. Soon after completing his accountancy exams, Adam quickly realised pure number crunching was not going to suit him well. He retrained as a Financial Adviser with the Prudential, qualifying in 1997. By 1999 Adam was working with Royal & Sun Alliance specialising in mortgage advice. This was still early days for mortgage brokering, as many banks had not yet been willing to allow external companies to introduce business to them.
Adam’s success soon got him noticed by local firms, one of which convinced him to move from mortgage advice to become an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). After a few years as an IFA, Adam joined a company in London and was advising city-based lawyers and barristers on all aspects of their financial arena. Although a great company and enjoyable work, Adam soon realised he needed to develop his own advisory solution as he felt the client journey could be improved, and thus, Concierge Wealth Management was born in 2011.
He prides himself on having a spatial awareness with client finances, and after 24 years as an adviser, Adam can see a solution to most situations with almost immediate transparency. He also has an affable disposition allowing him to deliver this to clients in a way that is enjoyable and comprehensible for them.
His pet hate is industry jargon. Adam feels advisers all too often seek to overcomplicate rather than simplify, regularly a point of professional ego. Adam loves conveying information that leads his client to a moment of “empowered clarity” and placing them in the position to make truly informed and confident choices about their family’s wealth.
Adam is able to advise you in all aspect of your finances and has a wide skill base, from mortgage and property buying strategies, risk management and through to behavioural finance, he will help you structure you own views, needs, and wants to ensure you walk the perfect journey through the advisory process.
Adam enjoys a number of sports, although now mainly golf, and still pretends he is young enough to continue with some boxing from time to time! Adam is a regular traveller and believes travel is the best education, helping us scale life effectively, ensuring no achievement, or for that matter problem, seems too great. Having recently bought a new home, in his spare time Adam is busy with builders and surfing through design ideas on Pinterest.
Tracey has had several roles within financial services, most notably as a Senior Account Executive for American Express Platinum Card (now known as Black Card) from 1993-1998 where she worked within the prestigious Concierge Service and attended to ultra-high net worth clients.
She has been with CWM since the start of the business in 2011 and is proud to have been pivotal in developing the company into the success it has become today. Tracey has been vital in her role as Executive Assistant to the Director Adam, and has recently been transferred to Head of Client Liaison. She is responsible for several aspects of the business, but most critically the client experience, ensuring each customer is supported through the advice process and feels informed within each phase of the service.
Outside of the office Tracey (or TJ as she is affectionately known) enjoys spending time with family and friends, and regularly attends music festivals and holidays in faraway places. Since 2021 time is now spent with her ‘furbaby’, a beautiful black Labrador named Koda. They spend time on walks in the countryside and have lots of puppy training classes together.
Tracey has a very particular and rare skillset. She cares deeply for our clients and understands customer needs not only through her natural instincts but from 30 years of customer service experience embedded in the financial services industry. She is a master of organisation, foresight and has the keenest attention to detail. She looks forward to supporting you through your time with CWM and will undoubtedly be one of your favourite points of contact.
Derek has always had a proclivity toward mathematics which led him to start his career in financial services with Pearl in 1993. Whilst with the company he developed his skill set and was noticed as an achiever and was soon moved from business support, becoming a fully qualified Financial Advisor by May 2000. In 2003 Derek chose to specialise in Mortgages and Protection as he enjoyed the consistent challenges delivered by this market and takes great pleasure in assisting house-buyers meet their ownership dreams.
Derek’s strengths do not lie just with the number crunching but even more so with a predisposition to customer service, something that he is very proud of. Derek’s warmth and kindness is ever present within his patience and care of approach with all clients. Whether first time buyer or a professional landlord, Derek’s wealth of experience and dedication to the client’s positive experience permeates through every aspect of his approach.
Technically, Derek is world class. He is continually informed with new legislation and lender criteria which enables him to deliver best advice and razor sharp, timely, tailored solutions. Mortgage Brokers often “hope” for solutions, Derek prides himself with the level of contemporary market information he has in his head at all times and blends this with a feisty tenacity for research to ensure the client is buying the perfect, achievable solution. Not a “possibility”.
Outside of his working life Derek is a keen sportsman and enjoys all types of competitive sport. He played and taught Rugby to a very high level through his 20s and 30s but unfortunately, he says his body, rather than mind, has informed him his rugby days have passed. Derek was also a prolific squash player. He is still an active golfer and a former captain of a local golf society. He is a very keen gardener and if not on the golf course you will find him on his own allotment tending to his tomatoes.
Derek says his greatest joy is informing clients that they have a mortgage agreed, and will be buying their first home or dream home in the weeks to come.
